I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.
- Charles R. Swindoll
If we've learned anything during these past few years of social distance and isolation, it is the importance of our friendships. Don't we sometimes miss those who give our lives that something extra, those that inspire us to be better and to find joy in their company?
I recently invited a group of friends over for a play day in the studio. We concentrated on wonderful colors, and flowers-- catching up and encouraging each other. I came away from that day with an amazing sense of connectivity and the desire to get back to creativity.
As artists, we need interaction with other creative souls to engage our minds. We need to surround ourselves with these friendships to lift each other up and be the encouragement we all need to stay grounded. Find that group of people and make them part of your tribe. Find those who challenge and inspire you.
Friendships require nurturing. Make time for them, spend time with them, and your life will be blessed.
Grab your gals and get messy.
